Gabrielle All the Time…

My name is Gabrielle and I am a Mass Communications and Media Studies Major at Arizona State University! Although I am a student at ASU, I reside on the other side of the continent in Upstate South Carolina. Originally, I am from Miami, Florida where my grandparents immigrated to from Cuba and raised their families. I work at Starbucks as a shift supervisor and have done so for almost EIGHT years now. During my time with Starbucks I have learned a tremendous amount of skills in leading teams and creating fun working environments, which has been most fulfilling. In my free time I enjoy cooking, listening to music, writing, reading, and collecting Pokemon cards. Anything that involves using creative inspiration to ignite hobbies or art in any medium is what I gravitate towards. I live with my fiance and our two pets, Edwin (my pup) and Tuna (my cat). One of our favorite activities is going for long walks around the lakes in my town and taking plenty of pictures of my pets in the wild. My dream job would be to work for a major publishing house and potentially one day write my own novel. Studying as an English Minor has been incredibly helpful towards realizing goals of mine that pertain to my future career.

Growing up and being raised in a major US city that is exceedingly multicultural has taught me a tremendous amount about the world and people. Additionally, moving from Miami to a rural southern town- think Friday Night Lights- further educated my views of the world and people. I believe this is the catalyst to my interest in culture and in turn the study of culture, pop-culture, and current events in the media. Much of this blog is rooted in those curiousities, the cause and effects of environmental cultures and its place in media. Studying, researching, and writing about differing perspectives on these subjects have reinvigorated my passion for sharing observations on the world around us. Thus, Gabrielle All the Time provides that very insight, happy reading!
